Aya Higuchi (b. 1988, Tokyo, Japan) lives and works in Tokyo. Higuchi’s small-scale oil paintings depict scenes from nature or domesticity, such as peaches placed on a glossy white plate, or greenery viewed through the mist of rainfall. She chooses quotidian subjects to elevate to the expanse of an entire canvas.
